It’s easy to forget that this time of the year can be hard for many families and individuals. To give back to the community, local based company BabyDam Ltd have donated a £1,000 worth of products to Plymouth based non-profit charity, Trevi House.

Trevi House is a substance misuse charity based in Devon.  It runs a women’s only residential rehabilitation centre and can accommodate up to 10 women and their children at any given time – it’s the only women’s centre where women can keep their children through rehab.  It also runs an outreach project, the Sunflower Women’s Centre, for women in recovery.  This year, the charity proudly celebrated 25 years of operation - in that time, it has supported hundreds of women and their children, helping mums become substance free for good and to be the best mums they can be.

Based in Cornwall, BabyDam Ltd are a global business, selling their baby products in many countries around the world. Their main product, BabyDam, is a revolutionary bathwater barrier that turns a family bath into a baby bath, helping to save water, time and money at bath time.

Nicole Sage, Commercial Director at BabyDam Ltd said: “Our baby products are a perfect fit for the mothers and children at Trevi House. Trevi House is the only service of its kind in the UK who allows women the chance to detox and become completely drug free without being separated from their children. We couldn’t think of a better cause, given the uniqueness of this wonderful opportunity that Trevi House provide in their desire to keep mother and baby united”.

The Trevi Christmas campaign is encouraging those to help keep a mum and child together this Christmas and give them a chance to live a happy life together. Every 16 minutes a child is taken into care in the UK. Only 1 in 10 is reunited with their mothers.

Hannah Shead, CEO at Trevi House said: “We need support from donations to help more children stay together with their mum whilst they go through rehab. Christmas is a time for families to be together, making happy memories. The donation from BabyDam will incredibly help to settle new mums quickly into the home of Trevi, whilst providing children with a present that will make a memory and a smile this Christmas”.

“Whilst we’re all indulging and receiving over the Christmas period it’s easy to forget about those less fortunate. It’s a simple fact that sometimes we need to help those who need something more than we do,” said Nicole.

“In order to put this wonderful charity into perspective, upon speaking with one of the volunteers I was staggered that despite having 3 of her own children, she gives 5 working days a week of her own time to help others”.

“I’ve lived in Plymouth my whole life, and I’m delighted to be able to help a Plymouth based charity and their residents in time for Christmas”.

“There are many companies within the baby industry, but this is the perfect opportunity to give something back, to both the parents and their babies”.
